Kirk Academy County Fair festivities moved indoors

Officials made changes this morning for Friday night’s Kirk Academy County Fair fundraiser event. Due to wind and cold weather conditions, the fun and festivities have been moved indoors to the school’s gymnasium.

Activities are scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. with high school skit performances beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Grenada Food Pantry will distribute this Saturday

The Grenada Food Pantry’s monthly Distribution Day is scheduled from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m., this Saturday, Aug. 27.

According to organizer Kim McRee, volunteer opportunities to help are available from 7 a.m. until 10 a.m. Saturday. Those that are in need of community service hours can join other volunteers Saturday morning.

It was evident that the love for the couple stretched well past party lines judging by the hundreds living and serving in Mississippi that were in attendance during last Tuesday’s Celebration of Life.
