Not many people gave the Kirk Academy Raiders much of a chance in their season opener at Raider Field.
They dressed 20 varsity players, along with nine freshmen against the Washington School Generals last Friday night. For 48 minutes, the undermanned Raiders went toe-to-toe with the Greenville school before dropping a 14-6 decision.
