Grenada drops region games to Starkville Yellowjackets

Grenada High School boys basketball coach Joey Cooley knew the challenge his players faced last Tuesday against Class 6A, Region 1 member Starkville High School. The Yellowjackets came into the contest fresh off a 100-93 loss to Tupelo and was ranked fourth in the state.

Grenadian J.J. Russell sets sights on 2022 NFL Draft

After completing his fourth season at the University of Memphis, former Grenada High School standout J.J. Russell had a decision to make. He could finish his career in four years and go on with his life or take advantage of an extra year of eligibility granted by the NCAA due to the affect of the COVID-19 virus on collegiate sports.

McNeer pleads guilty in ’17 Holcomb shooting death

Ricky McNeer, 55, of Holcomb pleaded guilty to manslaughter last Tuesday in the 2017 death of Robert Little. A jury initially convicted McNeer of second-degree murder back in 2019, and sentenced him to 40 years behind bars for killing his best friend.
