The Grenada Garden Club recently presented its Civic Pride Award to the Grenada School District’s elementary schools last month.
The award is presented each month to a different business or establishment and is judged on curbside appeal with a focus on clean up, general improvement of appearance and presentation.
Grenada Garden Club member Sharon Wilbourn, shares its goals for the club and the community of Grenada.
“Our goal is to encourage those who live and work in the Grenada area to take an objective look at the overall appearance of their business or establishment by cleaning their surroundings, making improvements and removing unnecessary clutter,” she said.
The Grenada Elementary School sign features flowers and plants with garden design elements by Lois Gaskin, the school district’s gardener and groundskeeper.
The Grenada Garden Club is a member of the Garden Clubs of Mississippi, Inc., Deep South Garden Clubs, Inc., and National Garden Clubs, Inc.
