Sealed bids for the I-55 Business and Technology Park North Water and Sewer Extension were received and opened by the Grenada County Board of Supervisors during last Monday’s meeting.
The bid opening began at 10 a.m. Willis Engineering Project Manager Karl Grubb presented each bid to the GCBOS. Greenbriar DSLP, 4D Construction, Double “S” Inc., A & B Construction and Aldridge Construction were the only five companies to place bids on the project.
After review by Grubb and upon other recommendations, Columbus Hankins made a motion seconded by Chad Bridges to award A & B Construction of Thaxton the lowest and best bid at $1,289,429.50.
“What I recommend we do is award it, subject to us checking the math, to apparent low bidder of A & B Construction and also subject that to DRA approval,” Grubb said. “That is the quickest way we can get this done.”
