Season football ticket-holders for chairback and box seating at Charger Stadium have until Aug. 15, to claim and pay for their seats for the upcoming home season before they are made available for public purchase.
The cost of the tickets, which include one parking pass, are $100 for five home games this season, according to Grenada High School Assistant Athletic Director Chip Foster. Seating is limited and those interested need to call Sheila Ellis at the GHS office at (662) 226-8844.
The home opener for the Class 6A runner-up Chargers will be Aug. 30 against the defending Class 3A Winona Tigers, who won a 32-26 decision over GHS last season at Winona.
In other GHS news, Meet the Chargers will be held from 5:30 until 8 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 22 at Charger Stadium. Tickets will be sold at the stadium ticket office in advance beginning at noon on the day of the event for $5. Jolly Jumpers will be selling an all-access $5 wrist band for the obstacle course 18 foot slide and bouncy house.
The football team is hosting a BBQ fundraiser for $10 a plate with advance tickets available from any player. The Grenada High School Band will have the concession stand available that night selling hamburgers, chips and drinks.
Players and cheerleaders in grades 7-12 will be recognized beginning at 7 p.m.
Coach Michael Fair’s Chargers will play Clarksdale High School in two regulation quarters on Aug. 23, at Coahoma Community College beginning at 6 p.m. Following that, the teams will play a junior varsity two-quarter contest.
The Chargers open the season Aug. 30, at defending Class 7A champion Oak Grove High School in Hattiesburg.
Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m.
