GSD schools go virtual Monday due to Ida

The Grenada School District announced just after 6:45 p.m. Sunday that due to inclement weather associated with Hurricane Ida it will be closed on Monday, Aug. 30. However, instruction will continue for all students virtually, officials say.

Sept. 3 qualifying deadline for District 2 school board seat

Next Friday is the deadline to qualify for the District 2 School Board seat as candidates will set their sights on the November ballot.

According to Grenada County Circuit Clerk Michele Redditt–Garcia, Dr. David Braswell has returned qualifying papers to run in the Nov. 2 election.
