Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 6, 2025, at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada for Mr. Sam Allen Ayers, 53, of Carroll County, who died on Thursday, Sept. 4, at his residence. Burial followed in Calvary Cemetery in Carroll County. The Rev. Gary Tanner and the Rev. Bud Vance officiated. The family received friends from 1 p.m. until service time on Saturday, Sept. 6, at McKibben and Guinn.
Sam Allen was born on Jan. 14, 1972, in Greenwood, the son of Charles Steve Ayers and Elsa Marie Pyron Ayers. He was a graduate of Grenada High School and earned a degree in marketing from Mississippi State University. Sam enjoyed a successful career in sales, but found his true calling as an auctioneer. He was a member of the team at Delta Auction for several years where he made lasting connections and friendships. Sam Allen was a member of Liberty Baptist Church.
His father and his grandparents, J.A. and Hattie Pyron and Sam and Sarah Ayers, preceded Sam Allen in death.
Survivors include, his wife, Kimberly A. Ayers; mother, Elsa Pyron Ayers; son, Joshua McNatt, and a host of cousins and other extended family.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers included, Will Allen, Randall Beckwith, Benji Britt, Kirk Clements, Kyle Franklin and Matt Mitchell.
