Memorial service plans are private for Mr. Roy Lee Davenport Sr., 83, of Tillatoba, who died on Saturday, April 15, 2023, at his residence.
Roy was born on Nov. 22, 1939, in Sardis, the son of the late Charles Lindsey and the late Mattie Rosalie West Davenport. Roy was a retired roofer and had spent many years working as a contractor. An avid outdoorsman, Roy enjoyed fishing at every opportunity. He also enjoyed spending time with family and friends sharing stories about his experiences during his lifetime.
In addition to his parents, his wife of 60 years, Barbara Ann Davenport; three daughters, Becky Kunefke, Elizabeth Darlene Davenport and Barbara Gail Davenport; son, Butch Davenport; three sisters, Betty Pitts, Earline Davenport and Aline Whisenant, and four brothers, William Davenport, Harvey Davenport, Jerry Davenport and Damon Davenport, preceded Roy in death.
Survivors include, three daughters, Joanna Melton of Winona, Freedom Michelle Davenport of Memphis, Tenn., and Diann Wardlaw (Chad) of Tillatoba; two sons, Ronnie Davenport (Cindy) and Glenn Davenport, all of Tillatoba; two brothers, Mitchell Davenport of Lumberton and Ray Davenport of Long Beach and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
