A graveside service will be held at a later date for Roy Green Keeton, 75, a man of profound faith and exceptional intelligence, who was called to his eternal home on Monday, Jan. 12, 2026, in Chattanooga, Tenn., surrounded by the love of his family.
Roy was born on Sept. 27, 1950, in Grenada. He was a beacon of love and wisdom to all who knew him. His life was marked by his pursuit of knowledge and his commitment to his community. He earned a master’s degree and dedicated his career to the field of nuclear engineering where his contributions were both significant and lasting. His professional achievements were paralleled by his involvement in the Ooltewah Baptist Church where he was a steadfast member, living out his Christian faith with grace and humility.
Those who knew Roy will remember him as a loving father, a doting grandfather and a faithful friend. His intelligence was matched only by his capacity for love and his unwavering belief in the goodness of the Lord. Roy’s life was a testament to his faith-filled spirit, and he instilled in his family the values of kindness, integrity and devotion to God.
His cherished father, John Toliver Keeton Jr.; his beloved mother, Mary Margaret Green Keeton; his treasured son, Morgan N. Keeton Wilson, and his brothers, John T. Keeton III and Hal F. Keeton preceded Roy in death.
His legacy continues through his beloved daughters, Mary M. Keeton and Joan M. Keeton; his adored grandchildren: Karley Keeton-Roberts, Kirstin Keeton, Adam Keeton, Jaice Keeton and Jordan Wilson as well as several caring nieces, nephews and cousins.
His family celebrates a life well-lived, a journey of faith well-traveled and a legacy of love that will forever be cherished. They take solace in the knowledge that he is now at peace in the loving embrace of our Creator where he will watch over us until we meet again in the glory of Heaven. Roy’s memory will be held in the hearts of those he touched, a reminder of the enduring power of a life anchored in love and faith.
