Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2025, at Kilmichael Baptist Church for Ronald “Smooth” Lott, 78, of Winona, who died on Thursday, Jan. 30, in Vaiden. Burial followed in New Hope Methodist Church Cemetery in Winona. The Rev. Dale Sorgen and the Rev. Randy Bridges officiated. Visitation was held from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 4, at Oliver Funeral Home and from 1 p.m. until service time on Wednesday, Feb. 5, at Kilmichael Baptist Church.
Smooth was born on March 12, 1946, in Coila, the son of the late Roger Hays and the late Lottie Bernice Bailey Lott. He was a member of Kilmichael Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, one son, Trent Lott, and three brothers, Carl Lott, Winford Lott and Gale Lott, preceded Smooth in death.
Survivors include, his daughter, Tina May of Brandon; one son, Bryan Lott (Stacey) of Kilmichael; daughter-in-law, Amanda Lott of Winona; two sisters, Ruth Hovas (DD) of Kilmichael and Diane Moon (Bruce) of Water Valley; twin brother, Don Lott (Mary) of Conroe, Texas; eight grandchildren, a host of great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be directed to Winona Christian School or the charity of the donor’s choice.
