Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 21, 2024, at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada for Mr. Robert Erice “Bob” Henson Jr., 69, of Winona, who died on Wednesday, April 17, in Jackson. Burial will follow in New Haven Baptist Church Cemetery in Choctaw County. The Rev. Jimmy Leach will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Saturday evening, April 20, and one hour prior to the service on Sunday, April 21, all at McKibben and Guinn.
Bob was born on Oct. 4, 1954, in Winona, the son of the late Robert Erice Sr. and the late Lorene Manus Henson. He spent his working life as a log truck driver and was blessed to work alongside his brothers every day. He possessed a strong work ethic and was always willing to lend a helping hand to someone in need. Bob was deeply devoted to his family and will be missed for many years to come.
In addition to his parents, one son, Brad Henson, and one brother, Mike Henson, preceded Bob in death.
Survivors include, his daughter, Cori Furr (Anthony) of Philadelphia; three sons, Brian Henson of Vaiden and Jeromy Henson (Alicia) and Trent Henson, all of Winona; sister, Cindy Poe (Paul) of Duck Hill; three brothers, Harold Henson (Glenda) of Poplar Creek, Wayne Henson (Judy) of Vaiden and Randy Henson (Sandra) of Kilmichael; 10 grandchildren, Brianna Henson, Caden Henson, Savanna Henson, Breanna Henson, Jazper Henson, Nate Henson, Addison Henson, Harper Neese, Haisley Neese and MaKinley Russell and two great grandchildren, Grayer and Jaydin.
Jason Henson, Justin Henson, Kevin Henson, Charlie Kilgore, Blake Poe and Jamie Tucker will carry Bob to rest in New Haven Cemetery. Joseph Hood, Bryant Lumbley, Lupe Morales and Tim Nail will serve as honorary pallbearers.
