Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2025, from the Chapel of McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada for Mr. Ricky Lee Palmer, 58, of Grenada, who died on Friday, Aug. 22, in Oxford. Dr. Joey Faulk will officiate. Burial will follow in the Palmer family plot in Grenada Memorial Garden. The family received friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Tuesday evening, Aug. 26, and will one hour prior to the service on Wednesday, Aug. 27, all at McKibben and Guinn.
Ricky was born on Jan. 17, 1967, in Holly Springs, the son of the late Oscar Wayne and the late Mavis Watkins Palmer. He faithfully worked at Staten Construction in Grenada for 27 years and over the last decade owned and operated his own business, O’Keefe’s Pawn and Sporting Goods. Ricky enjoyed hunting, riding in the country and a good card game. Above all, he will be remembered as a great Dad, who loved and cherished his children.
In addition to his parents, his brothers, Donald Palmer, Kenny Palmer and David Palmer; sister-in-law, Marie Palmer, and one nephew, Blake Palmer, preceded Ricky in death.
Survivors include, four children, Anna Palmer Guinn (Blake), Ricky Lee Palmer II (Emily), Destanie Palmer and Anthony Palmer (Ashley), all of Grenada; nephew, Jonathan Palmer; niece, Lorea Palmer Otts; great nieces, Mary Kate Perkins and Anna Claire Perkins; a granddaughter, Addison Claire Palmer, along with two more grandchildren on the way.
Jacob Bennett, Martin Evans, Tyler Hobbs, Michael Loftin, Jonathan Lyles, Cory Murphree, Jonathan Palmer and Paul Williams will honor Ricky by serving as pallbearers. Bill Ashmore, Kelly Culver, Terry Dyer, Vincent Marascalco, Kelly Otts, Robby Staten, Kenny Williams and Tommy Woods will serve as honorary pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be directed to the charity of the donor’s choice.
