What is the baptism of the holy spirit?
Who was it promised to?
Luke 24:49 … And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. And ye are witnesses of these things. And behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.
Acts 1:7…, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power. But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.
We see that the Holy spirit was promised to the apostles by Jesus Christ.
Holy spirit baptism came from heaven acts 2 :4
And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance
Holy Spirit baptism ceased Ephesians 4:5 says, there is one baptism
Is it holy spirit baptism or water baptism? The lord and His apostles taught water baptism, if we practice both then that is 2 baptisms. The Ephesian writer says there is only one.
Don’t allow anyone to fool you, telling you that they have miraculously been baptized in the holy spirit. The bible doesn’t teach that.
