“I Love you all my Much!”
Addie looked at her mama adoringly and held her little arms out as wide as she could!
She loves her mama and tried to tell her in words and gesture just how much!
I have a little piece of notepaper framed and on a table and I look at it often. Written in blue crayon, the letters of varying sizes and tilting across the page, it says, “Mama I love you.” There’s a little crooked heart drawn at the end of the note.
One of my boys wrote it to me many years ago. The good thing is they both still tell me often that they do love me, and they show it.
Who do you love “all your much?” Who you love says a great deal about you.
Jesus said in Matthew 22:37-40. “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.”
I John 4:19 tells us: “we love him, because he first loved us.”
I John 4:10 says: “Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be propitiation for our sins.”
When you love someone what do you do? How do you act?
You want to be with them, learn about them, communicate with them, and please them. You don’t want to hurt them or cause them grief.
When we truly love God we want to read His Word in the Bible, we want to pray, we want to learn more about Him and His plan for us, we want to worship and praise Him, we want to obey and fulfill His missions on earth, and we love those He loves. We want to go to His house and be with others who love God. We want to tell others about our loved one and Savior!
Remember Jesus asking Peter three times, “Do you love me?” Each time Peter responded that he did love Jesus. Jesus told him to “feed my lambs,”. “Take care of my sheep,” and “feed my sheep.” John 21:15-17.
Earlier Peter had denied Jesus three times. Now Jesus gave him the opportunity to reaffirm his love three times.
Who are the sheep? The people who follow God, are learning about Him, and who depend on Him.
Do you love Jesus? Are you taking care of His lambs and sheep? Do you refrain from sin because you love Him so much you don’t ever want to hurt Him?
Easter is coming. Jesus demonstrated His love for us on the cross, in the resurrection, and in the ascension.
How will you answer His question, “Do you love me?”
Fill in the blank: I love ________all my much!.
