Kirk Academy head girls basketball coach Harrison Nickle decided he would schedule some of the top teams in the MAIS to get his team prepared for division play.
After the regular season loss at DeSoto School, the Raiderettes started last week with a home game against Class AAAA power Bayou Academy last Monday at home followed by a Thursday trip to perennial Class AAAA power Leake Academy in Madden.
The Raiderettes opened with a 43-34 win over the Lady Colts. They followed that with a 58-25 loss to Leake.
With the action, Kirk sees its record at 3-2.
Senior Charley Rose paced KA with a game-high 19 points and 12 rebounds against Bayou. Classmate Grace Sultan scored 13 points.
Against Leake, Rose led the way with 13 points.
Kirk hosted Madison-Ridgeland Academy Tuesday. Results were not available as of press time.
