Seniors Charlee Sultan and Charley Rose combined for 35 points last Thursday night in Grenada to lead the Kirk Academy Raiderettes to a 54-9 win over Winona Christian School.
With the win, KA improves to 4-3 on the season.
Charlee Sultan led the way with 18 points on 7-of 14 shooting from the field. She would also add 4 steals.
Rose finished with 17 points on
5-of-10 field goals to go with 11 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 steals.
Senior Parker Avant chipped in 9 points and 4 rebounds. Sophomore Hydi Rose Holloway added 6 points. Freshmen Claire Thomas and Eria Rhymes finished with 2 points each.
The junior varsity girls won a 35-17 decision.
Joleigh Sultan and Thomas led Kirk with 14 points each. Charlie Bowman finished with 4 points Rhymes added 2 points. Maggie Malone rounded out the scoring with one point.
The junior varsity boys improved to 1-3 with a 46-17 win over Winona Chrisitan.
Carter Willis led the way with 14 points followed by Logan Carson with 10 points. Klayton Winter and Russell Mims each had 7 points. Jack Cravens had 5 points, and Logan Welch scored 3 points.
Madison-Ridgeland
Last Tuesday, Kirk Academy hosted Class AAAA power MRA and lost all four by double digits.
In high school action, the Raiderettes lost a 57-34 decision to the Lady Patriots.
Rose led the way with 10 points, while Avant finished with 7 points and 5 rebounds. Charlee Grace Sultan and Joleigh Sultan each scored 5 points. Holloway scored fourth points, while senior Cecile Brister chipped in with three points.
The Raiders dropped to 0-3 on the season with a 54-15 loss to the Patriots.
Junior Carter Mattox sophomore Jack Redwine each had 4 points to lead the Raiders. Carson scored 3 points, while freshmen Colt Harbin and Kade Tipton both finished the night with 2 points.
The junior varsity Raiderettes lost a 43-13 decision to the Patriots.
Thomas led Kirk with seven points followed by Joleigh Sultan with 4 points. Rivers Osborne round out the scoring with 2 points.
Kirk lost 44-19 decision in the junior varsity boys contest.
Carson paced the scoring with 10 points followed by Willis with 7 points. Logan Welch chipped in 3 points and Mims scored 2 points.
Bayou Academy
In game played in Grenada on Nov. 3, the varsity lost a 60-25 decision to the Colts from Cleveland.
Mattox led Kirk with 8 points. Sophomore Will King had 5 points along with junior Taylor Melton. Junior Tanner Wilbourn and Redwine each had 2 points.
The junior varsity boys lost a 57-22 decision to the Colts. Willis led the Raiders with 13 points, while Cravens had 4 points. Carson finished with 3 points and freshman Charlie Martinez scored 2 points.
On Nov. 6, the junior varsity boys lost a 37-31 loss at Leake Academy.
Carson led KA with 17 points, followed by Willis with 7 points. Wes Harville scored 5 points and Cravens scored 2 points.
Kirk traveled to MRA Monday and hosted DeSoto (Ark.) School Tuesday. Results were not available as of press time. Kirk hosts Winston Thursday at 4 p.m.
