The regularly scheduled meeting of the Grenada City Council, which was scheduled for last night, Monday, Jan. 9, has been rescheduled for 6 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 12, at City Hall, Executive Secretary Martha Profit announced last Friday afternoon with an email notice published below.
Council Meeting Rescheduled
According to Mayor Billy F. Collins, several members of the council are attending the 2023 Mid-Winter Legislative Conference in Jackson hosted by the Mississippi Municipal League. The conference began at noon on Tuesday at the Hilton Jackson with registration and the opening of exhibit booths. The first session — Basic Municipal Law — began at 1 p.m.
Last Saturday morning, Collins told The Star that he would not be attending the conference.
The conference will conclude at 9 a.m. on Thursday with a Legislative Leadership Update and door prize giveaways.
Thursday’s City Council meeting will follow the same format as all monthly meetings with the approval of minutes, payment of claims, department head reports, business items, citizens requests and executive session.
