Graduation season is here and seven students with the Ocean Pointe Dental Academy received their diplomas as certified dental assistants last weekend.
Longtime local dentist Dr. Latonya Ware-Davis, is the owner and director of the academy, hosted a graduation ceremony at Molly’s Place in Downtown Grenada.
Ocean Pointe Dental Assisting Program is a 14-week, 216-hour program that is 85 percent hands-on chairside instruction.
The dental assistant curriculum is powered by Medical Curriculum Partners, and the school is licensed by the Mississippi CPSCR Regulatory Agency.
Ocean Pointe Academy is designed to prepare students for work in fast-paced dental offices.
The program teaches students dental theory, the dental assistant’s role as a team member, their legal responsibility, ethical behavior, and professional conduct, as well as the clinical techniques and skills needed to perform in the dental office.
