Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 22, 2024, in the Mortimer National Funeral Home Chapel in Grenada for Ronald David Piccolo, 76, of St. Augustine, Fla., who died on Saturday, April 13, at the Clyde E. Lassen Veterans Nursing Home. Burial will follow in Alva Parker Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the funeral home St. Augustine, Fla.
Ron was born on May 20, 1947, in Ellwood City, Pa., the son of the late Rodie S. Piccolo and the late Anna F. Scassa Piccolo. On June 15, 1974, he married Linda Faye Connelly. On May 23, 2003, just shy of their 29th anniversary, Linda passed away.
Ron was a member of the Catholic church and a veteran of the United States Army. He was employed by Terminix/Service Master for 25 years as an accountant. Ron spent his early career as a radio and television sportscaster in Mississippi, Ohio and California. He was a huge sports fan, especially the Pittsburgh Steelers.
In addition to his parents and his wife, one daughter, Lynda Michelle Piccolo, preceded Ron in death.
Survivors include, one daughter, Melissa Ann Childs and her husband, Carl; seven grandchildren, Amber, Kayla, Carla, Nicholas, Beth Leah, David and Olivia and three great grandchildren, Giovanni, Leonardo and Cecelia.
