A memorial service will be held at a later date for Gilda Jo Cummins, 70, of Dentontown, who died on Thursday, April 11, 2024, at her residence.
Gilda was born on Nov. 6, 1953, in Long Branch, N.J., the daughter of the late Roy Myers and the late June Langdon Myers. She was a graduate of Greenville High School and of the Catholic faith. She married Herman Cummins on April 9, 1993, and they spent 31 wonderful years together.
Gilda was a sweet lady and would give you the shirt off her back if you needed it. She cherished her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved to cook and always made sure she had a meal prepared for her family. In her spare time, Gilda loved to be outdoors either fishing or working in her yard. She was loved greatly by her family and friends, and they will forever cherish her memories in their hearts.
In addition to her parents, one son, Myers Morlino, and one sister, Myla Ann Myers, preceded Gilda in death.
Survivors include, her husband of 31 years, Herman Cummins; daughter, Niki Hood and husband, Brad, of Mooreville; one son, Brandon Reed of Baton Rouge, La.; stepdaughter, Julie Cummins of Elliott; mother-in-law, Patricia Cummins of Elliott and grandchildren, Riley Hood and Levi Hood.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Gilda’s honor be directed to St. Jude Chil-dren’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
