Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 19, 2024, in the Oliver Funeral Home Chapel in Winona for Robert Morris “Buddy” Shackael, 86, of Winona, who died on Tuesday, July 16, at his residence. Burial followed in Winona Garden of Memory. The Rev. Benny Rigby and the Rev. Terry Corley officiated. Visitation was held from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 18, and from 1 p.m. until service time on Friday, July 19, at Oliver Funeral Home.
Mr. Shackael was born on April 22, 1938, the son of the late Paige and Melvin Montgomery Shackael. He was a member of North Winona Baptist Church and served in the United States Army National Guard.
In addition to his parents, one sister, Jean S. Britt, and a great grandson, preceded Mr. Shackael in death.
Survivors include, his wife, Marcelene Shackael of Winona; daughters, Betty Downs (Kenny) of Carrollton and Brenda Moorman (Brett) of Cleveland; sisters, Edna Montague of Winona and Carolyn Jefcoat of Greenwood; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
