Graveside services were held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 19, 2023, in Itta Bena Cemetery for Rachel Faye Everett Bagwell, 80, of Gore Springs, who died on Friday, Feb. 17, in Grenada. The Rev. Chris McElroy officiated.
Rachel was born on Feb. 2, 1943, in Leflore County, the daughter of the late Robert Franklin and the late Cornelia Jacks Everett. She retired after many years of serving as a house mother at Beacon Harbor in Greenwood. She enjoyed reading, watching TV, puzzle books and listening to music. She found the most joy in spending time with and spoiling her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, one brother, Raymond Everett, and one sister-in-law, Barbara Ann Everett, preceded Rachel in death.
Survivors include, four daughters, Elaine Waynette McKee of Grenada, Rachelle Deaton (Hal) of Gore Springs, Kathy Everett (Bobby) of Money and Faye Harvey (Chad) of Covington, La.; two brothers, John Robert Everett (Virginia) of West Memphis, Ark., and Donald Jacks Everett (Bev) of Lafayette, La.; eight grandchildren, Rachel Dickerson (J.D.), Trey Everett, Tate Glenn (Jada), Andrew McKee (Paige), Luke Glenn, Halle Deaton, Lydia Harvey and Adelyn Harvey; three great grandchildren, Wyatt Dickerson, Everett Dickson and Charlee Tate Glenn, and several nieces and nephews, whom she loved also.
Pallbearers were Wyatt Dickerson, Trey Everett, Luke Glenn, Tate Glenn, Andrew McKee and Brent Smith.
The family wishes to express sincere appreciation to Mrs. Bettie Hankins and Mrs. Rosie Hill, who cared for their Mama like family.
