Graveside services were held at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, in Oakwood Cemetery in Winona for Maurice Lee Gooch, 83, of Winona, who died on Sunday, July 21, at his residence surrounded by his family following a lengthy illness. Bro. Craig Shackelford and Bro. David Dickerson officiated.
Maurice was born on April 28, 1941, in Winona, the son of the late Catherine Gooch-Bond and the late Muril Gooch. He was a member of North Winona Baptist Church.
Survivors include, his wife of more than 63 years, Peggy B. Gooch; his son, Michael Lee Gooch (Martha) of Winona; sisters and brother-in-law, Janis Rogers, Mickey Boyette, Sherry Welch and Sandy Jones; one granddaughter and two great grandsons.
The family would like to express its sincere gratitude and appreciation to Baptist Hospice and the wonderful caregivers that provided such excellent, compassionate and professional care to Maurice during the final months of his declining health.
