Mary Wilson Love Profilet, 83, peacefully departed this life on Monday, May 6, 2024, in Grenada. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 8, 2024, at Lake Park Cemetery in Laurel for both Dr. William and Mary Profilet. Immediately following, the family will host family and friends at the Laurel Country Club.
Mary’s journey began in Baton Rouge, La., before she settled in Laurel where she graduated from Laurel High School and pursued studies at the University of Southern Mississippi. An epitome of the Southern belle, she gracefully traversed life in Laurel; Russellville, Ala.; Andalusia, Ala., and Grenada. Her community involvement knew no bounds, as she dedicated herself to various pursuits, from the local Episcopal church to garden clubs and arts leagues.
However, Mary’s heart belonged to her family above all else. Whether through weekend visits, holiday gatherings or daily phone calls, she cherished every moment with her loved ones. A forced Ole Miss fan, she loved watching football in the fall and winter and baseball and golf all spring and summer with her sports-crazy husband. She was an avid reader, lover of mysteries and investigation shows, music and art, and an incredible hostess, homemaker and bird watcher.
Her husband of 40 years, Dr. William B. Profilet Jr., and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. B.F. (Spec) Wilson, preceded Mary in death.
Cherishing her memory include, her children, Amy Love McGill (Ken) of Madison, Virginia Love of Atlanta, Ga., and Ben Profilet III (Mackenzie) of Gluckstadt; her grandchild, Grace Love McGill of Madison; her brother, Chris Wilson of Laurel; niece, Elizabeth Wilson Harris (Brett) of Laurel and her adored great nephews, Wagner Harris and Elliott Harris.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to dear friend and caregiver, Sarah Smith Moore; Miracle Moore, the exceptional caregivers from Providence Companion Care; nurse, Josh Simmons, and the numerous family members and close friends for all their love and support. Mary will be forever missed, but the legacy of love, life, family and friendship leave an impact on all the lives she touched. Her family takes comfort in knowing that she has been joined by the family of angels that went before her.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be directed to the French Camp Academy, New Life Christian Fellowship Church in Grenada or the charity of your choice.
