Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov 5, 2024, at Grenada Church of God for Mrs. LaRisa Muriel Ward Campbell, 70, of Grenada, who died on Friday, Nov. 1, in Batesville. Burial will follow in the Ward Family Cemetery west of Bruce. Pastor James McElroy will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Monday evening, Nov. 4, at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday, Nov. 5, at Grenada Church of God.
LaRisa was born on Oct. 28, 1954, in Grenada, the daughter of the late Travis “Dude” and the late Gladys Muriel Goodson Ward. She worked for many years at Pennaco Hosiery in Grenada and following its closure, joined the staff of the North Central Planning and Development District as a social worker. She and her late husband, Barry, were faithful and devoted members of Grenada Church of God.
Camping, sewing and traveling were among LaRisa’s favorite hobbies. She was a wonderful cook and loved to serve delicious meals to her family and other loved ones. LaRisa loved a good card game and was always ready for a game of Rook. She will long be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
In addition to her parents and her husband, three brothers, Perry Ward, Mike Ward and Murray Ward, preceded LaRisa in death.
Survivors include, her daughter, Lakela Lancaster (Mark) of Grenada; son, Wayne Anthony of Grenada; one brother, Jimmy Ward (Denise) of Bruce; seven grandchildren, Tristan Anthony (Kailey), Maggie Lancaster, Peyton Estes (Lana), Madelyn Anthony, Caleb Estes (Jade), Nate Newton and Libbie Grace Anthony, and two great grandchildren, Levi Anthony and Stetson Estes.
Tristan Anthony, Caleb Estes, Peyton Estes, Nathan Newton, Benji Tindall and Doug Ward will honor LaRisa by serving as pallbearers and carry her to rest in the Ward Family Cemetery.
