A time of remembrance will be held from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 20, 2023, at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada for Mr. Joseph Realmuto Sr., 76, of Carrollton, who died on Saturday, Jan. 14, in Grenada. All friends and family are welcome to come and join in a time of sharing stories and happy memories of Joe’s very treasured life.
Joe was born on Friday, June 14, 1946, in Brooklyn, N.Y., the son of the late Anna and the late Peter Realmuto. He was raised in South Florida, served in law enforcement in Florida and Pennsylvania prior to moving to Mississippi where he worked for Satellite America, and was in the automotive industry with Grenada Datsun, Kirk Ford and Cannon Chevrolet. He was an entrepreneur and owned several businesses in Grenada including, The Swap Shop, Action Auto Company, Action Cycle and The Beef House Restaurant.
Joe loved his wife, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and his friends. He was an avid outdoor sportsman and enjoyed fishing and hunting. He also loved motorcycles, karaoke, and playing cards and dominoes with his daughters, grilling, collecting vintage firearms, and spending time with his grandson, Layton, and their dog, Little.
In addition to his parents, his brother, John Realmuto (Jean); sister, Joann Viscomi (Bob), and a grandson, Daxton Realmuto, preceded Joe in death.
Survivors include, his wife of 46 years, Deborah Realmuto of Grenada; children, Ann Bunting (Barry) of Bartonsville, Pa., Angel Brower of Gore Springs, Amy Jo Kirkland (Jason) of Leesburg, Fla., Joey Realmuto Jr. (Heather) of Grenada, Jessica Realmuto of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and Jeremy Realmuto (Jennifer) of Grenada; 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
