A private memorial service will be held at a later date for Mr. John Wayne Staten of Holcomb, who died on Friday, July 21, 2023, at his residence.
John was a retired teacher, who last taught at West Tallahatchie School System. He was an avid reader, a history buff and a dog lover.
His father, John Howard Staten, and his mother, Roxie Sherrill Staten, preceded John in death.
Survivors include, his sister, Linda Staten of Olive Branch.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be directed to the charity of the donor’s choice.
