Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 27, 2023, at the Mortimer National Funeral Home Chapel in Grenada for Joe S. Farmer, 77, of Coffeeville, who died on Thursday, May 25, in Grenada. Burial followed in Broom Cemetery near Coffeeville. Visitation was held from 1 p.m. until service time on Saturday, May 27, at Mortimer National Funeral Home.
Joe was born on Nov. 20, 1945, in Yalobusha County, the son of the late Reed V. Farmer and the late Grace Adams Farmer. He was employed by the United States Postal Service until his retirement. He was a member of the Coffeeville Methodist Church and attended Elliott Baptist Church.
Survivors include, his wife, Jean Farmer; his son, James Timothy Farmer; one grandchild and five great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be directed to Broom Cemetery, 270 CR 79, Coffeeville, MS 38922.
