Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 2, 2023, at Paynes Baptist Church in Charleston for Jamie White Shook, 90, who died on Friday, March 31. Burial followed in Magnolia Gardens in Paynes. Visitation was held one hour prior to the service time on Sunday, April 2, at the church.
Jamie was born on Dec. 28, 1932, in Paynes, the son of the late Robbie White Shook and the late Noah Clifton Shook. He was a member of Paynes Baptist Church and served in the United States Army.
In addition to his parents, his sister, Sara Jane Shook, preceded Jamie in death.
Survivors include, his wife of 67 years, Mildred Shook; daughter, Jamie Shook Brandon of Oakland; son, Robert “Bobby” Shook (Carol) of Pope; brother, Edward E. Shook of Paynes; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be directed to Paynes Baptist Church, 2087 MS Hwy. 35 S., Charleston, MS 38921.
