Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 20, 2022, at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada for Mr. James “Bubba” Kendall, 64, of Grenada, who died on Monday, Feb. 14. Burial followed in Wortham Cemetery in Tillatoba. The Rev. Kevin Tribble officiated. Family and friends gathered one hour prior to the service on Sunday, Feb. 20, at McKibben and Guinn.
Bubba was born on Nov. 5, 1957, in Water Valley, the son of Robert Dewey “Bud” and Charlene Bumgart Kendall. He worked at Heatcraft in Grenada prior to his retirement. He was of the Pentecostal faith, and enjoyed fishing and camping in his spare time. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
His parents; son, Kenneth Dewayne “Slick” Kendall Sr.; stepmother, Eleanor Faye Kendall; stepsons, Robert Earl “Bubba” Gilbert and James Edward “Mackie” Gilbert, and three brothers, Robert Michael “Mack” Kendall, Daniel Clyde Kendall and Conny Ray Stephens, preceded Bubba in death.
Survivors include, his wife, Patricia Gilbert Kendall; two sons, James Michael “Little Bubba” Kendall (Shannon) of Elliott and Jason Lynn “Jake” Kendall of Hickory Flat; sisters, Eva Gail Hoop (Randy) of Tillatoba and Sherri McClanahan of Brewton, Ala.; three brothers, Roger Lynn Kendall (Tina) of Tillatoba, David Kenneth “Buster” Kendall (Joann) of Calhoun City and Larry Wayne Stephens of Tillatoba and 10 grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Earl Kendall, Kenneth Kendall, Mike Kendall, Robert Kendall, Steve Russell, J.D. Williams and Travis Wiggins.
