Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 31, 2024, in the Oliver Funeral Home Chapel in Winona for Mrs. Gayle Self, 73, of Vaiden, who died on Tuesday, May 28, in Vaiden. Burial followed in Vaiden Cemetery. The Rev. Phil McRae officiated. Visitation was held from 10 a.m. until service time on Friday, May 31, at Oliver Funeral Home.
Mrs. Self was born on July 8, 1950, the daughter of the late Martin and the late Katie Nail Peninger. She was a member of Shongalo Presbyterian Church in Vaiden.
In addition to her parents, her husband, Ralph Self, and one brother, Randy Van Peninger, preceded Mrs. Self in death.
Survivors include, her daughter, Leigh Ann Self of Vaiden; son, Shannon Self (Jennifer) of Vaiden; sister, Diane Moore of Wesson; one brother, Don Peninger of Ridgeland; three grandsons and several nieces and nephews.
