Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 21, 2024, at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada for Mr. Edward Glenn “Pops” Flanagan Sr., 64, of Elliott, who died on Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2024, at his residence. Burial followed in Blackhawk Cemetery. The Rev. Billy Little officiated. The family received friends one hour prior to the service on Monday, Oct. 21, at McKibben and Guinn.
Mr. Flanagan was born on May 28, 1960, in Marks, the son of the late William and Patsy St. Germain Flanagan. Pops worked for more than 32 years at Sealed Air in Grenada, now Novipax. He possessed a strong work ethic and always had a yard to mow or painting to be done. Eddie enjoyed spending time outside and working in his summer vegetable garden. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing.
In addition to his father, his wife, Tonia Flanagan, preceded Mr. Flanagan in death.
Survivors include, his mother, Patsy Flanagan of Grenada; daughter, Kristy Prewitt (Justin Deaton) of Blackhawk; son, Edward Glenn “Bubba” Flanagan Jr. of Grenada, and five grandchildren, Kurt Flanagan, Bailey Prewitt, Jensey Blount, Gloriana Flanagan and Presley Prewitt.
Pallbearers were Justin Deaton, Kurt Flanagan, Shawn Lipe, Joseph Medders, Ula Russell Jr., and Matt Walters.
The family wishes to express sincere appreciation to Adoration Home Health and Hospice for the exceptional, loving care provided to Eddie in his last days. The family is deeply grateful for Jessica Moore, Gwen Welch, Stacia Fancher and Connie Gully for the amazing care provided to Eddie.
