A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 29, 2023, at Friendship Baptist Church in Grenada for Mrs. Debbie Thorpe Breland, 72, of Grenada, who died peacefully on Thursday, July 13, in Jackson. The Rev. Tim McCaffrey and the Rev. Chuck Provine will officiate. Family and friends will gather one hour prior to the service on Saturday, July 29, at Friendship Baptist Church.
Debbie was born on Nov. 8, 1950, in Grenada, the daughter of the late Jesse and the late Bobby Fay Lance Thorpe. She worked for many years as the receptionist in Dr. Drew Townes’ dental office, 20/20 Eyeworks and Dr. David Braswell’s Dental office. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, her brothers, Danny Ray Thorpe and Terry Thorpe, and her two childhood best friends, Nancy Dempsey and Margaret McCluskey, preceded Debbie in death.
Survivors include, her husband, Charlie Breland; daughters, Michele Herbert and Terri Morgan (Jeff), all of Grenada; three grandchildren, Cham Herbert (Lacy) of Hernando and Chase Herbert and Cullen Morgan, both of Grenada and two great grandchildren, Jaxon Herbert and Madilyn Herbert.
