Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2024, at Winona Church of God for Mr. Chester “Buddy” Smith, 86, of Winona, who died on Sunday, Oct. 20, at his residence. Burial followed in the church cemetery. The Rev. Ricky Cook and the Rev. John Lumbley officiated. Visitation was held from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 22, at Oliver Funeral Home and from 9 a.m. until service time on Wednesday, Oct. 23, at Winona Church of God.
Mr. Smith was born on July 2, 1938, the son of the late Lacy Lee and the late Regina Loyce Smith. He attended Winona Church of God.
In addition to his parents, five sisters and two brothers, preceded Mr. Smith in death.
Survivors include, his wife, Shirley Lindley Smith of Winona; two sons, Ricky Smith and Stacy Smith (Dionne), all of Winona; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
