Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada for Mr. Charles E. Duke, 83, of Grenada, who died on Tuesday, July 2, in Grenada. Burial followed in the Grenada Memorial Garden. The Rev. Michael Payton officiated.
Charles was born on March 15, 1941, in Money, the son of the late Irvin Loyd and the late Allie Mae Joiner Duke. He was a member of Elliott Baptist Church and spent most of his working life as a truck driver hauling cattle all over the United States.
In addition to his parents, his wife, Ethel Duke; grandson, Eric McLaughlin, and his brother, Buddy Duke, preceded Charles in death.
Survivors include, his daughter, Angie Lawrence (Danny) of Grenada; sister, Betty Jean Craft of Magee; granddaughter, Paige McLaughlin Ballard of Kilmichael and a great grandson, Talon Ballard of Kilmichael.
Pallbearers were Talon Ballard, Kenny Cottingham, Danny Craft, Glenn Duke, Robert Duke and Joe Ponder.
