A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, July 23, 2022, in the Oliver Funeral Home Chapel in Winona for Bob Simmons, 70, of Winona, who died on Friday, July 15, at his residence. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Winona. The Rev. Jamie Bailey will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time on Saturday, July 23, at Oliver Funeral Home.
Mr. Simmons was born on April 2, 1952, in Winona, the son of Harry Walker and Ruby Sledge Simmons. He was a retired jeweler and gemologist, having served both towns of Grenada and Winona. He enjoyed different activities such as cooking and scuba diving. He loved traveling and going on any adventure he could. He was a good friend, who enjoyed hearing a good joke and telling one.
His parents preceded Mr. Simmons in death.
Survivors include, his fiance, Sandra Hardin of Winona; sons, Robert Sledge Simmons Jr. (Abby) of Kiln, Stephen Walker Simmons (Lindsey) of Brandon and Clay Hardin of Winona; daughter, Nikki Hardin of Columbus and four grandchildren with a fifth on the way.
Honorary pallbearers will be all of his many close friends from across the country.
For Bob’s final joke, the family requests that memorials be made to the Psychic Electrician’s Foundation.
