Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 6, 2022, at First United Methodist Church in Grenada for Mr. Allan Michael, 75, of Grenada, who died on Saturday, June 4, at his residence. Burial will follow in Dover Cemetery near Bentonia. Family and friends will gather one hour prior to the service on Monday, June 6, at the church.
Allan was born on April 6, 1947, in Washington, D.C., the son of Thomas Ami and Helen Richardson Michael. He enjoyed a career as a management consultant and was very active in the Grenada community where he had lived since 1999. He was an active member of the Grenada Rotary Club and served as president of the Board of Directors of the Boys and Girls Club of the Mississippi Delta. He was also a member of First United Methodist Church in Grenada.
In retirement, Allan and his wife, Janice, owned and operated Lofts on the Square and the Jas. Cuff Event Venue in Downtown Grenada.
His parents and two brothers, Lowell Michael and Douglas Michael, preceded Allan in death.
Survivors include, his wife, Janice Michael; daughters, Ashley Michael of Harrisonburg, Va., and Ashley Richardson (Carpenter) of Grenada; son, Allan Michael II of Staunton, Va.; sisters, Donna Frayser (Robert) of Lawrence, Kan., and Kathy MacMillan (David) of Harrisonburg, Va.; one brother, Kenneth Michael of Payson, Ariz.; nine grandchildren, Daniel, Tristan, Haley, Maya, Brynna and Paxton Michael-Lee; Tristan Moore and Lola and Eliza Richardson and one great grandchild, Gage Michael-Lee.
Pallbearers will be Mickey Boyette, Robert Frayser, Mike Hancock, Gary Jenkins, David MacMillan and Mike Nabors.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be directed to First United Methodist Church in Grenada or the Boys and Girls Club of the Mississippi Delta.
