A Celebration of Life Services was held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 3, 2024, at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada for Albert Winfred “Al” Walton, 64, of Grenada, who departed earth for his heavenly home on Tuesday, July 30, surrounded by his loving family in Ellisville from natural causes following a lengthy illness with Alzheimer’s disease. A graveside service followed in The Union Cemetery in Tillatoba. Visitation was held from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 3, at McKibben and Guinn.
Al Walton was born in Grenada on March 18, 1960, the son of the Rev. Bobby Franklin Walton and Virginia Ruth Shields Walton. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church where he had actively served as the sound technician and a bus driver for youth trips. Al Walton was an appliance repairman and owner of Al’s Appliance Service. He enjoyed traveling, plus being outdoors, golfing, hunting, fishing and boating on Grenada Lake.
Survivors include, his daughter, Katie Beth (Quinn) Axton of Ellisville; son, TJ Walton of Grenada; two brothers, Andrew Walton of Germantown, Tenn., and Terry Walton (Anita) of Winona and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family appreciates the special people helping them care for Al, specifically, Carol Brown, who cared for Al while he lived in Grenada; Peggy McCarty; Christian Jarrell (A First Name Basis) and Dana Cooley (Gentiva Hospice), while Al lived in Ellisville.
Pallbearers were Billy Boswell, Jeff Clemons, John Conrad, Jerry Gilliland, Mike Hammond, Wayne Harlow, Jim Holland, Ward Hubbell, Keith Keeton, Jim Kelly, David Livingston, Mark Scruggs, Ronald Swafford and Mark Williams.
