Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 4, 2024, in Magnolia Cemetery in Batesville for Ms. Ada Willis Williams, 81, of Scobey, who died on Tuesday, April 30, in Winona.
Ada was born on Nov. 4, 1942, in Batesville, the daughter of the late Charlie and the late Pearl Willis. She attended Batesville High School and Northwest Junior College. Ada worked in movie theater management for several years before owning and operating movie theaters in Batesville and El Dorado, Ark. She served as treasurer and on the board of directors of the Mississippi and Arkansas Chapters of the North American Theater Owners Association. Ada also served as President and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Tri-State Theater Owners Association. A devoted family woman, her grandchildren were her pride and joy.
In addition to her parents, her sisters, Charlene Gill and Corrine Wilson, and brothers, Amos Willis and Sonny Willis, preceded Ada in death.
Survivors include, her son, Donald L. Williams II; daughter-in-law, Bonnie M. Williams; three grandchildren, Kristin N. Williams, Ashley M. Williams and Charles L. Williams, and several nieces and nephews.
