A stateroom service was held at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 20, 2023, at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada for Mrs. Norma L. Tate, 96, of Grenada, a longtime resident of Memphis, Tenn., who died on Saturday, April 15. She was laid to rest alongside her husband in the West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery in Memphis, Tenn. The Rev. Daniel Herring officiated.
Norma was born on July 31, 1926, in Searcy, Ark., the daughter of the late Luther and the late Allie Woodall. She was a devoted homemaker and enjoyed cooking and sharing her delicious meals with her family and friends. Gardening and tending to her flowers were also among some of her favorite things to do.
In addition to her parents, her husband, Ernest Edward Tate; son, Steve Tate; one sister and two brothers, preceded Norma in death.
Survivors include, her daughter-in-law, Debbie Tate of Grenada; granddaughter, Kathryn Tate Shirley (Paul) of Grenada; great grandchildren, Tate Shirley and Ward Shirley, both of Grenada and one sister, Bessie Kenner of Cocoa Beach, Fla.
