The Nation's Weather for Tuesday, August 30, 2022
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
An approaching cold front will combine with high heat and
humidity to produce showers and thunderstorms across the
Northeast and mid-Atlantic tomorrow. Storms will develop in
the Appalachians during the afternoon hours before moving
eastward during the evening. At least a few storms may turn
severe with damaging winds and hail being the primary
threats. Very heavy rainfall is also possible with localized
flooding not out of the question in low lying and poor
drainage areas. Additional thunderstorms are also expected
across the Southeast and into the southern Plains during the
afternoon, but will be less intense and more isolated. In
the West, high heat will continue to slowly build with high
temperatures reaching the 90s and 100s.
