Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 29, 2025, at Bethlehem Methodist Church in Kilmichael for Marjorie Ann Ballard Chesteen, 83, of Kilmichael, who died on Thursday, Nov. 27, at her residence surrounded by her family. Burial followed in Bethlehem Methodist Church Cemetery. Dr. Andrew Chesteen, the Rev. Neville Vanderburg and the Rev. Linda Little officiated. Visitation was held from noon until service time on Saturday, Nov. 29, at the church.
Margie was born on Oct. 30, 1942, in Montgomery County, the daughter of the late Charles Wesley and the late Ruby Jim (Cochran) Ballard. She was a member of Bethlehem Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, her brother, Charles Thomas Ballard, preceded Margie in death.
Survivors include, her husband of 61 years, William Chesteen; son, Billy Chesteen (Pam); daughter, Christy Carwile (Mark); sister, Jo DeShazier (Stanley); four grandsons and five great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be directed to the Bethlehem Methodist Church Memorial Fund or the Bethlehem Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, 606 Bethlehem Church Rd., Kilmichael, MS 39747 or Kilmichael Friendship Cemetery, 488 Hwy. 413, Kilmichael, MS 39747.
