The Grenada High School volleyball team improved to 8-7 on the season by splitting a pair of matches last week.
The Lady Chargers lost a 3-0 decision to perennial power Oxford to open the week in a match that was moved to Oxford due to the water problem the city encountered.
Two days later, the girls won an 3-0 decision against Horn Lake on the road. In that contest, Grenada got outstanding play from Olivia Lashley and Briella Simmons, winning by scores of 25-15, 25-20 and 25-7.
“The entire team came out and played well against Horn Lake,” coach Collin Ray said. “We communicated well.”
Against Oxford, Grenada lost 25-11, 25-14 and 25-12.
Grenada was scheduled to return to action Tuesday at 5 p.m. against McEvans High School. They travel to Starkville Thursday, also at 5 p.m.
