The Grenada High School freshmen and junior varsity Chargers closed out the 2022 season with games at South Panola High School in Batesville last Tuesday. Both the teams came up on the short end of the stat sheet in their respective games against the Tigers.
In the freshman contest, GHS lost a 12-8 decision, while the junior varsity lost a 6-0 decision.
Freshmen
Quarterback Andrew Klinck was 8-of-15 for 120 yards and a touchdown. Ty Edwards finished with three receptions for 45 yards and a touchdown. Zayion Cotton finished with six receptions for 75 yards. Jaeden Curry had 120 all-purpose yards for the Chargers to pace the offense.
“I’m proud of my ninth-grade football players,” said coach Jarvious Grayson. “We had a great year as players and growth in character and development. These are principles I teach to help players become young men and student-athletes.”
Latavien Pritchard finished with six rushes for 12 yards to lead the junior varsity Chargers. Quarterback Holt Gober completed three passes. Devin Hennis caught two passes for 14 yards and Richard Smith finished with a catch for seven yards.
