The body of a white male was recovered from the North Abutment near the boat ramp at Grenada Lake Saturday morning, according to Grenada County Sheriff Rolando Fair.
Officials with the Grenada Lake Park Rangers and Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks, along with members of the Tie Plant Volunteer Fire Department assisted the GCSO as boats were used in the recovery of the body. The drowning victim was pulled from the water shortly before 11 a.m.
The name of the deceased has not yet been released pending notification of family and next of kin.
The cause of the drowning remains under investigation.
