Only a few weeks remain until students head back to the classrooms in Grenada, so school registration is one of the main priorities for school officials in the Grenada School District and at Kirk Academy.
The first day of school for the GSD is Thursday, Aug. 5.
“The registration process has started and we’re encouraging parents to get their children registered,” Superintendent Dr. David Daigneault said. “We look forward to starting the school year in a traditional setting.”
The school district started registration for the schools online and it can be found on the District’s website. Parents can register their children online no matter if they are a returning student or new to the District. Active Parent registration is also available online.
At Kirk Academy, the first day of school for students will be Friday, Aug. 6.
“We’ve got a lot of great things happening this year and we’re looking forward to starting up again,” Head of School Jay Watts said. “Hopefully we won’t have to go through what we went through last year, so we’re asking that folks go ahead and take care of the registration steps.”
At KA, Watts said they are currently replacing roofs at both the elementary school and high school. He said that the front of the elementary school has also been repaired.
With three weeks remaining, parents/guardians for each student in the GSD must verify their physical address each year with the school district by providing two proofs of physical address that are in the same name and within 60 days of registration date.
