Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, July 22, 2021, at the Mortimer National Funeral Home Chapel in Grenada for Thomas Wayne “Tommy“ Vaughn, 80, of Duck Hill, who died on Monday, July 19, in Winona. Burial will follow in Grenada Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from noon to service time on Thursday, July 22, at Mortimer National Funeral Home.
Tommy was born on Sept. 22, 1940, the son of the late Norman Washington Vaughn and Marie McCool Vaughn. He was employed by Georgia Pacific as a maintenance superintendent until his retirement. He also retired from the United States Navy as a senior chief aviation structural mechanic in 1988 after 20 years of service. He was of the Baptist faith.
His parents; his wife, Rosemary Vaughn, and one sister, Mary Jane Bullock, preceded Tommy in death.
Survivors include, his daughters, Melody Ann Abel and her husband, E.G., of Yazoo City, Pamela Renee Herrin and her husband, Shannon, of Mount Ida, Ark., and Stacy Nicole Vaughn Mayhan of Grenada; three sisters, Norma Marie Caldwell of Grenada, Patricia Ann Ingram and her husband, James, of Grenada and Brenda Kay Davis and her husband, John, of Sardis; brothers, William “Billy“ Vaughn and his wife, Carol, of Lake Cormorant, Jerry Vaughn and his wife, Becky, of Grenada and David Vaughn, and his wife, Marjorie Dale, of Duck Hill; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
