Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 2, 2021, at the Mortimer National Funeral Home Chapel in Grenada for Terri Ferguson Smith, 57, of Scobey, who died on Monday, June 28, in Oxford. Burial will follow in Wayside Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from noon until 2 p.m. on Friday, July 2, at Mortimer National Funeral Home.
Terri was born on July 28, 1963, in Grenada, the daughter of Sue Young Ferguson and the late Jack Owen Ferguson. She was employed by The Grenada Star for several years as a reporter and editor and worked at other newspapers until her retirement. She graduated from Delta State University with a bachelor’s degree in journalism. She was a member of Wayside Baptist Church.
Her father preceded Terri in death.
Survivors include, her husband, Steven E. Smith of Scobey; stepson, Jeremy Scott Smith of Sierra Vista, Ariz.; her mother, Sue Ferguson of Scobey; sister, Bonnie Ferguson of Scobey; brother, Andy Ferguson of Fort Worth, Texas, and three grandchildren.
