Laura Bell O’Neal was born the oldest of 10 children on Oct. 31, 1939, in Carroll County, to the late Beauguard O ‘Neal and Martha Jane Liddell. She gained her wings on Aug. 25, 2021, with her family by her side.
She accepted Christ at an early age. At the time of her passing, She was a member of Mt. Zion M.B. Church under the leadership of Rev. Willie Love.
Laura attended the Grenada Public Schools. She had a passion for cooking for her family, friends, and neighbors. She enjoyed taking trips with her sisters, playing cards, and working in her yard. Laura worked for Caterpillar Tractor Co., where she retired after 32 years.
Laura married the love of her life, Isaac McDaniel in 1956 and to this union seven girls were born. Shortly after the birth of her 4th baby girl, they relocated to Joliet, IL.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Isaac; a daughter, Daphanie; a granddaughter, Nadia Robinson; her parents; four brothers; a sister; and a special nephew, James Lewis, Jr.
Laura leaves to mourn her passing six daughters, Joyce Stanford (Roy deceased), Linda Robinson (Maurice), Martha Rucker (Jerry deceased), Edith Washington (Frankie deceased), Angela Booker (Robert), and Cynthia McDaniel (Stanley); fifteen grandchildren; three great grandchildren; four sisters, Edith Dixon, Clara Graham (Odell), Emma Mitchell, and Nancy Cooper (Terry); three brothers, Liddell Jackson, William Jackson (Irane) and Samuel Jackson; two aunts, Odie Donald and Bobby Jean Marshall; an uncle, Summie O ‘Neal; her special children she held close to her heart, Isaac Jerome Lewis, Karen Gordon, Antonio Ross, Rebecca Parker Daley and the Allen family, a host of special friends, Dolly Amos, Johnny Ward, Irma Logan, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
